Identity Theft & Fraud Protection
Let’s get serious about identity theft and fraud protection.
It’s a serious problem and we want you to know that we’re serious about fighting it. We work with industry-standard technology partners to ensure that all our systems have the latest, most advanced security features in place. We also constantly look for new ways to further ensure the security of all bank systems and all client information.
Many financial institutions and their clients have become the target of a fraudulent email scam called “phishing.” This fraudulent activity is an attempt to illegally obtain customer’s personal account information. The best way to protect yourself from this type of fraud is to NOT reply to emails or click links which request any type of financial or personal information. Although the email may look legitimate and include the financial institution's name and logo, many are fraudulent.
All of us at Capital Bank are committed to making sure that your personal, financial information remains confidential. If you receive any suspicious emails from Capital Bank requesting personal account information or if you have any specific questions regarding ID theft or fraud protection, please contact us at customerservice@capitalbank-nc.com or 800.308.3971. |
