Capital Bank Names Fayetteville City Executive

Raleigh, N.C. — Sept. 1, 2009 — Capital Bank recently appointed Peter Best senior vice president and city executive to serve the four Capital Bank branches in Cumberland County. Best’s responsibilities include commercial and retail banking in the area.

Best joined Capital Bank in 2004 as a credit analyst in Raleigh; he then served over four years in Cary as a commercial relationship manager for the bank and subsequently moved to Fayetteville in December 2008 to serve that position after Capital Bank acquired four branches of Omni National Bank.

“Years ago, Peter began his banking career as a summer intern for me while a student at William & Mary,” noted Capital Bank president and CEO, B. Grant Yarber. “I have had the opportunity to watch his incredible progress and lightening-fast maturity as a banker. He has earned this promotion and I am certain he will serve the people of Cumberland County very well for years to come.”

Best received his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary in 2003 and is a 2008 graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking.
