Capital Bank Appoints Marketing Officer

Raleigh, N.C. — August 7, 2009 — Capital Bank recently named Blair Byrd Kennedy vice president and marketing officer. Kennedy´s responsibilities include event planning, Web site management and advertising among other marketing areas for the Raleigh-based Capital Bank.

Kennedy joined Capital Bank in 2007 and served as attorney trust sales officer for the commercial services department. Prior to joining the bank, she worked for Quintiles as a marketing associate and SoftPro as a sales representative.

“We look forward to Blair´s impact on our marketing efforts for Capital Bank,” said Prudy Frederick, vice president and director of marketing. “Her experience will be valuable as we continue to expand our services across the state and inform more people about the benefits of partnering with a strong community bank.”

Originally from Burlington, Kennedy received her degree in communications from Elon College. She´s also served as a volunteer community actress with Theatre In The Park and Raleigh Little Theatre and is a member of the choir at her church in Raleigh. She is married to Phillip Kennedy and enjoys traveling and performing in local theatre productions in her spare time.
