Capital Bank Named Official Bank of ACC Sports Journal
Football season premiere issue on newsstands now
Raleigh, NC - Sept. 3, 2008 - Capital Bank announced today that it is the official banking partner of the ACC Sports Journal and its Web site, ACCSports.com. Capital Bank is teaming up with the revamped publication and new owner David Glenn, publisher of the ACC Sports Journal and the voice of the Atlantic Coast Conference on Raleigh-based Sports Radio 850 The Buzz (WRBZ-AM) weekdays from 3 - 6 p.m.
As part of the partnership, Capital Bank provides banking services as well as advertising support to the ACC Sports Journal and ACCSports.com. The premiere issue of the season is on newsstands now featuring a preview of the ACC football season including in-depth articles from the region's top sportswriters, plus coaches' quotes, depth-chart analysis, recent records and 2008 schedules.

The magazine's inaugural issue was published in August 1977. The ACC Sports Journal has become known as "ACC fans' indispensable pipeline to hidden truths and expert analysis" over the last 31 years. The bi-monthly publication (monthly during the summer) is available by subscription or at more than 20 newsstands in North Carolina and beyond.
