CONTACT: Capital Bank's Roger Plott Named Mover & Shaker Executive recognized for impact on business and community Raleigh, NC - Aug. 25, 2008 - Capital Bank is proud to announce that Roger Plott, commercial services and marketing executive, has been selected by Business Leader Media as a recipient of the 2008 Movers & Shakers Award. Winners will be honored at a ceremony on Sept. 22 at the Hilton, North Raleigh and will be featured in the September issue of Business Leader magazine. Chosen from a record number of nominations this year, the Movers & Shakers Awards honor up-and-coming business leaders in the Triangle community who have made a significant impact on the community. In the past several months Plott oversaw the planning, launch and implementation of several new customer products and marketing initiatives at Capital Bank, beginning with the rollout of Tuned-In Checking in March, followed by mobile and virtual banking. Plott has also dedicated time to improving financial literacy in the community. He serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Council on Economic Education (NCCEE), a non-profit organization focused on building a financial education for children and adults across the state. He also helped design and launch Capital Bank's new online education center, which offers user-friendly tutorials on services including Health Savings Accounts and checking accounts, as well as information about budgeting, tips for managing expenses and steps to prevent identity theft. Plott has also been an advisory board member of the Salvation Army of Wake County since 1997.
