Capital Bank Supports Wake Forest College Birthplace Society

Bank's donation to assist with museum expansion

Raleigh, NC - March 25, 2008 -In a continuing show of commitment to arts in the community, Capital Bank announced a pledge of $7,500 to the Wake Forest College Birthplace Society. The bank's pledge will assist the society with the expansion of its museum at the Calvin Jones Historical Site.

"As a community bank, we take pride in supporting local organizations, including those dedicated to fostering arts and culture," said Renee Shaw, Wake Forest City Executive for Capital Bank. "Capital Bank believes in the mission of the Birthplace Society and we look forward to the progress on the museum."

The mission of the Birthplace Society to preserve and share the history of Wake Forest College and the town of Wake Forest. The construction phase will begin in late spring/early summer 2008, with a grand opening scheduled in 2009 to help celebrate the town of Wake Forest's centennial year. Shaw, along with Todd Warrick, Senior Vice President and North Wake Community Executive for Capital Bank, presented the check to C. Edward Morris, Executive Director of the society.

"It is our dream that this museum will become the cultural hub of the Wake Forest community, and Capital Bank's generous support has put us on the right path," said Morris. "Their dedication to arts and culture is impressive, and we're looking forward to their continued support."
