CONTACT: Capital Bank Partners with RALEIGH, NC – July 11, 2007 - Capital Bank today announced that on July 12 at 10:00 a.m., they will present a check to Aston Park Health Care Center in west Asheville to support the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation (SHCPF). The primary initiative funded by the SHCPF is the Senior Crimestoppers program, which successfully operates to provide the safest possible living and working environment in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and HUD housing venues across the country. Capital Bank has made a million dollar investment as a partner to the Foundation, which is based in Memphis, Tennessee and was established in 1994. Al Davis, Asheville City Executive for Capital Bank will present a check to Marsha Kaufman, Executive Director of Aston Park Health Center. Davis will also present a charter membership plaque for the facility, which will be displayed to signify a zero tolerance to crime for the community. “We’re very grateful that this program exists—it’s not necessarily used in places where there are safety issues, but where administrators are taking every step to assure that our facilities stay safe,” said Kaufman. “Capital Bank’s involvement and support brings us closer to achieving zero tolerance.” Capital Bank’s five-year commitment to the SHCPF begins with the check presentation in the amount of $715 earmarked for the Senior Crimestopper’s Wish Comes True program. This initiative is a way to provide extra support to one of the Crimestopper’s facilities in need. “The Wish Comes True program is a great way for Capital Bank to get involved with the betterment of the lives of the residents,” said Davis. “It could go towards a musical concert in the auditorium, a wheelchair for a resident or a trip to a baseball game.” Among those who will be present at the check presentation in addition to Davis and Kaufman are Jerry VeHaun, President of the Board of Directors of Aston Park Health Care Center, Donna Derryberry of SHCPF and Becky Girard, Teresa Grigsby, Ashley Jarvis, Lori Masters and Sonja Turner of Capital Bank. |
