Capital Bank Breaks Ground in Zebulon

Raleigh, NC – May 31, 2007 – Capital Bank broke ground in Zebulon on Wednesday, May 30th for the next new branch location, scheduled to open in the fall of 2007.

“The growth that Capital Bank has experienced in the past few years has been exceptional and breaking ground in Zebulon for our next location is a testament to that growth,” said Capital Bank CEO Grant Yarber at the ceremony. “We’re very pleased to bring ‘Service Worth Talking About’ to another North Carolina community.”

In attendance to celebrate the groundbreaking were Yarber, Zebulon Mayor Robert Matheny, Ed Aycock from the North Carolina Bankers Association, members of the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce and additional Capital Bank personnel.

Bill Clement will be the city executive for the new branch, which will be located at 1260 N. Arendell Avenue. Clement came on board with Capital Bank in 2006 and is currently based in the Wake Forest office.  Clement, an Appalachian State graduate, has lived in Zebulon for approximiately15 years.  His wife, Amy, is a registered nurse and they have two sons, Will, 10, and Jake, 8.  He serves as the Treasurer for the area Ducks Unlimited and coaches two youth baseball teams. 

“Bill’s commitment to the community mirrors our own,” said Yarber. “His experience and professionalism have been an asset to our organization, and we know that he’ll continue to thrive in this new role.”

“I’m proud to be a part of Capital Bank and eager to play a role in bringing a true neighborhood bank to my own community,” said Clement. “One of the initial steps was this groundbreaking ceremony. The community and I will be watching the progress over the next few months with great anticipation,” he added.
