Capital Bank Helps Raise Over $79,000 for Coats for the Children
Capital Bank supports WRAL in the annual Salvation Army coat drive

RALEIGH, N.C. – January 24, 2007 – During the 2006 Coats for the Children Campaign, Capital Bank branches, along with co-sponsor Jiffy Lube, received over 5,000 coat donations.  People from Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, Clayton, Durham, Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Goldsboro, Morrisville, Oxford, Pittsboro, Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Sanford, Siler City, Spring Lake, Wilson and Wake Forest came together and donated new and gently used coats to the Salvation Army families in need this winter. 

On Friday, December 8th Capital Bank partnered with Jiffy Lube and WRAL in the Coats for the Children Telethon that helped to raise over $79,000 for local families.  “Coats for the Children is a tremendous avenue for us to reach out and help families in need during these cold winter months,” said Grant Yarber, CEO of Capital Bank.  “I am proud that our associates, customers and local communities came together to make this a success.”

Since 1989, WRAL has collected more than 93,000 coats and raised $864,000 to provide winter clothing for Salvation Army families. This year brings those totals to over 98,000 coats and more than $943,000.
