Executive
Management Team
Capital Bank’s executive management team has decades
of combined banking experience—predominantly within
the local markets we serve. The team’s banking experience
includes working with community banks, thrifts and major
regional banks. The team has expertise in all key areas of
banking, from lending and credit administration to general
management. Our management team also has experience with
bank acquisitions and branch expansion as well as an abundance
of local market knowledge and visibility. They are community
leaders upon whom the foundation of our bank has been built.

Grant Yarber
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Yarber joined Capital Bank in June 2003. He has served as president and CEO of Capital Bank and Capital Bank Corporation since May 2004. Prior to his promotion to Chief Executive Officer, he served as president and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Prior to joining Capital Bank, Mr. Yarber served as Chief Credit Officer and Chief Lending Officer for MountainBank in Hendersonville, NC from 2002 to June 2003 when he joined Capital Bank. With more than 20 years of banking experience, Mr. Yarber has proven his skills as an effective leader throughout the many positions in lending and credit administration. Mr. Yarber began his career as a credit analyst at NCNB (now Bank of America) in 1989, moving through various positions that included significant leadership roles as Senior Credit Officer for Business Lending for the Southeastern United States. Prior to his credit role, he served as Regional Executive in Missouri and Illinois for Business Banking, Professional and Executive Banking, and Agricultural lending.
Michael Moore
Chief Financial Officer
Michael Moore serves as chief financial officer for Capital
Bank and Capital Bank Corporation. His responsibilities include
financial reporting, as well as investments, budgeting, investor
relations and strategic planning for the bank.
Jennifer Benefield
Chief Administration Officer
Jennifer Benefield leads all merger & acquisition planning and execution, facilitates new branch construction/design and oversees all branch openings/closings and relocations. She also oversees retail banking support services, security, facilities, and deposit compliance functions. Jennifer has held numerous positions since joining Capital Bank at its inception in 1997.
David
Morgan
Chief Banking Officer
David Morgan brings 21 years of business lending expertise
as well as an aptitude for business management to Capital
Bank. As Chief Banking Officer, he oversees the commercial and retail banking functions statewide. Prior to joining Capital Bank,
David held executive-level positions with a large Southeastern
bank, where he served the Granville, Wake, Durham and Franklin
County areas.
Roger
F. Plott
Commercial Services & Financial Services Executive
Roger Plott oversees the delivery of treasury management
services and leads the organization´s business development
efforts to grow core deposits. As director of commercial services,
Plott oversees Capital Bank´s client support Call Center
and serves as a resource for business relationship banking officers,
providing non-credit related services including treasury reporting, account
reconciliation services and overnight sweep accounts.
Mark
Redmond
Chief Credit Officer
Mark Redmond serves as chief credit officer for Capital
Bank Corporation and Capital Bank. In this position, Mark
is responsible for all lending activity and credit operations
for the bank. He most recently served as senior credit officer
and small business advocate with a top banking institution
in Kentucky. Previous to his Kentucky assignment, Mark worked
as a corporate lending officer, serving in Winston-Salem,
and Boone.
Teresa
White
Chief Human Resources & Training Officer
Teresa White serves as Director of Human Resources for
Capital Bank. Her responsibilities include organizational
development, compensation, performance management and employee
relations. In her 20-year career, Teresa has successfully
managed human resources development for a number of different
organizations. Teresa joined Capital Bank early in 2006.
